My name is Cassie. Wife to Alex. Mom to Sam.

When Sam was 4 months old he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. This blog became my outlet to share, vent, keep people informed, and document our lives throughout his treatment.

When Sam finished treatment this project sort of fell to the wayside. I'm making an effort revive this space and to start documenting those everyday moments again!

We love God.
We love each other.

Wish Trip - Thursday

This morning the Disney characters were here at Give Kids The World Village. Sam saw Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Belle. Then he got to ride the carousel with Pluto and Goofy! It was incredible. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After a nap, lunch, and ice cream (of course!) we headed to Sea World. We saw a rock show with Elmo and some of the Sesame Street gang. The Dolphin show was pretty incredible. But I can count on one hand the number of smiles we saw from Sea World employees. Maybe we were just spoiled by the super friendly cast members at Disney, but everyone appeared to be in a bad mood. We didn't let it dampen our fun, though. :)

After Sea World we came back to the village where it was Christmas time! Sam rode the carousel a few times, of course. Then we wrote his name on his star to be hung on the tower ceiling, and got his special pillow that will help him have sweet dreams. :) Next we saw Santa and got a present, then we went on a horse-drawn carriage ride. Finally we came back to our villa where we just hung out, ate pizza, and played games on the iPad while snuggled in the big bed.

We're making tomorrow our last Disney day, so we're going to try to cram Epcot and Hollywood Studios into the same day, with a pit stop at Magic Kingdom to ride The Barnstormer. Sam has really been wanting to ride a roller coaster. Our little thrill seeker has begged to ride all of the huge rides he has seen. So wish us luck and a smooth day of park hopping tomorrow!
