a little random

These delicious snacks are so delicious that I felt compelled to take a picture to document their deliciousness. Mmm...

I'm trying not to eat these tasty treats because they're for my snacks while I'm at work... but I ate like half of a pack of blackberries when I was rinsing and slicing up tomorrow's portion and as I'm typing this I'm simultaneously devouring a bowl of watermelon. I've been going through two packs of strawberries, a whole watermelon, and two packs of blackberries or blueberries a week. This baby is going to come out asking for fresh produce... good thing my uncle is the produce man.

And, yeah, the baby might come out demanding things. I keep having dreams that he can talk.

Here are the cards I made for father's day.

Here's my Dad's gift... a new wedding band. He lost his a long time ago and was so glad to get a nice new one.

I haven't gotten to talk to Gwenith this week... but I'm sure she's upset about MJ's passing. She was his biggest fan!

18 Week Appointment

This morning was our 18 week appointment with the "big" ultrasound! The little one was bound and determined not to cooperate. He sat on his leg for the entire time! Just when she was about to give up she had me lay on my side while she put the pictures on the computer. I poked and prodded my belly while pleading with the baby to just give us the goods! It worked! He moved his leg for a split second... just long enough for us to get the money shot.

The doctor looked at the pictures and said that everything looked good... she would just like to get some better pictures of all of the organs and everything since he didn't want to give us many good views. We go back for another ultrasound in 3 weeks. Since the doc was running behind today they gave us the option to skip seeing her today and just see her after the next ultrasound and we decided that was fine.

Here are some more pictures from today...

I love this little frog leg...

i love this

But for the record... the live performances at the CMT awards... not so much.

not much to say

I don't have much to say in the way of an update. No news is good news, right? Well... I'm sure I can come up with something. Let's see...

My ultrasound is in FIVE days! That's one hand's worth of finger counting right there, people! I've determined that I'm going to drink some orange juice to get the baby all hopped up on sugar in the hopes of getting the money shot.

I like my new job so far. I'm still in training - so still Monday through Friday. I officially don't want to go back to weekends. Tomorrow is my first day out front registering real live patients in person. I've registered them over the phone and online. I think I'll have fun interacting with patients. I always liked getting to do that on the floor.

So far I haven't had any trouble waking up in the morning. ::knocks on wood:: I was kind of dragging this morning but it was probably because I took a nap yesterday. I've determined that if I don't take a walk or go somewhere in the evenings that I'll ultimately end up napping. And today.... guess what? Nap friggin' city. So bad, yet so goood.

Oh, yeah... more work stuffs. I might still be freakishly loyal to my old department. When I was just getting ready to leave today I heard them call a code blue up on the floor. I called and they didn't have a secretary so I went up to help out. I can't just leave 'em hangin'.

My husband said he planned on painting the kitchen this week. It's Wednesday night. I've seen no signs of painting.

That husband I speak of also feels under-appreciated at work and is trying to do something about it. I'm feeling a little uncertain about rocking the boat considering the whole bun in the oven situation, but... okay.

In more husband news he's going on a mini-tour with a sweet little band from Nashville called Lexington. He leaves on Monday evening. After the ultrasound, of course.

In other sweet music news, I wish I was driving to SC on Saturday to see these dudes but in the words of Alex, "That's too much driving." Two which I say, "PsssSHaw! Who's the pregnant one with crazy restless/pinchy/crampy/GENERALLY WEIRD legs? That would be me... and I'm down."

I registered a man today who retired from KFC and I thought of Phil. Sorry, Phil.

Hmm... guess I had plenty to say after all.

Saying goodbye see ya later...

I start my new job tomorrow. On Friday night Alex and I went out to eat at Rocky's Italian Grill with some of my peeps from work for a kind of send-off dinner.

The work ladies...

Me and Steph... she's three days pregnant-er than me. We're hoping to deliver in rooms next to eachother. ;)

My favorite engaged couple! James is one of Steph's best friends from forever. Lindsey is a nurse on VTU. Steph introduced them, and the rest is history!

Steph and Denise (DeeDee/Dee/Dennis) Dee came straight from work, still in her scrubs, cause she's my lady.

I'll really miss working with these people...

16 Week Appointment

We had another appointment this morning. We wound up having to wait like and hour and a half before seeing the doctor. Usually they get me back really quickly... maybe they were punishing me for spilling pee in the bathroom.

What was that? Yes I spilled my urine in the bathroom. The nurse took me back and got my weight and blood pressure, then sent me to pee in a cup as usual. I went to deposit my sample through the little door... while still sitting on the toilet with my pants around my ankles... and dropped the cup. I'm not going to lie... it splashed and I cursed. I cleaned the cup off, produced another sample, and stuck it through the door. Then I proceeded to clean up the floor to the best of my ability and scrubbed and scrubbed the heck out of my hands. I'm pretty sure the nurse thought I was in there dropping a deuce because I was taking so long.

We got to hear the heartbeat again today. It was about 150 bpm. That little woosh, wooshing sound is so amazing. I'm restraining myself from blowing some dough on a home doppler so I can hear it whenever I want. Actually Alex is restraining me from blowing some cash on a home doppler.

I also spoke to someone about the cost of all of my visits and such. It's all covered 100% which is... freaking awesome. I was pretty sure that it was because I work at Baptist, but some stuff in our policy changed last year and I wasn't sure if the maternity coverage had changed at all.

Finally, I scheduled my anatomy scan for the 22nd. The count down is on! In a little over two weeks, if the little booger cooperates, we'll find out if we're having a boy or girl. Team Vadge or Team Peen. A little [insert boy name here] or a little [insert girl name here]. I'm convinced that we won't have a name picked out until the baby gets here... and even if we do I don't know if we're going to tell. I really don't want to hear the opinions. I keep joking that our dog's name is Puppy, why not just name our kid Baby?

some more pictures

Gwenith took this one. Some people still might think I'm crazy for letting a preschooler use my camera... oh well.

I need to update...

..but I've got nothing of interest. Here, look at the purdy pictures...
